Sticks around on practice squad
The Chiefs signed Remigio to their practice squad Wednesday, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Remigio didn't manage to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster despite a strong endorsement from special teams coordinator Dave Toub. Remigio finished with 133 yards on four kick returns, 42 yards on two punt returns and seven catches (on 11 targets) for 52 yards through three preseason games. He will begin the season on the taxi squad and wait for an opportunity to make his NFL debut in 2024.

Doesn't make roster cut
Kansas City waived Remigio on Tuesday.
Analysis: Despite lobbying by special teams coordinator Dave Toub, Remigio became a casualty of the roster cut deadline Tuesday. He's set to become a free agent if he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period.

Gets endorsement from Toub
Special teams coordinator Dave Toub told reporters Tuesday that he will "pound the table" for Remigio to make the Kansas City's 53-man roster as a return specialist, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Analysis: Remigio has been competing against Skyy Moore, Mecole Hardman and others for a return specialist role on kickoffs and punts during training camp. Across the Chiefs' two preseason games, Remigio has returned his two kickoffs for 31 yards each and added a 42-yard punt return in Saturday's contest against the Lions. He's also seen work on offense, accumulating five catches on eight targets for 51 targets across his two preseason outings. Remigio spent all of 2023 on the Chiefs' reserve/injured…read more

Could make 53-man roster
Remigio has been returning punts and kicks while also working with Kansas City's first-team offense during training camp, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: The second-year wide receiver out of Fresno State has emerged throughout the summer, receiving increased reps with the first-team offense and impressing the coaching staff. Remigio has also been working as a return man, which enhances his chances of making Kansas City's 53-man roster. As the preseason continues, expect Remigio to compete for a depth role on the Chiefs' offense as well as the position of the team's top return man.

Building momentum entering Year 2
Remigio took a substantial amount of first-team reps throughout OTAs and minicamp and looked impressive, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
Analysis: He got a chance to handle increased reps due to first-round rookie Xavier Worthy (hamstring) being sidelined, and Teicher reports that Remigio made the most of those opportunities. Kansas City boasts a crowded but still unsettled wide receiver corps, so Remigio will have to find a way to stand out in training camp alongside all of Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Kadarius Toney, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore and Justyn Ross in order to make the roster. As Teicher notes, Remigio's…read more

Participating in OTAs
Remigio (wrist) has been an active participant at Kansas City's team OTAs, Matt McMullen of the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Remigio spent the entirety of the 2023 campaign on Kansas City's reserve/injured list with a wrist injury, but he now appears to have fully recovered. The wide receiver has an uphill battle to make the team's active roster in 2024, competing with the likes of Montrell Washington, Cornell Powell and Phillip Brooks to do so.

Headed to IR
Remigio (wrist) reverted to Kansas City's reserve/injured list Wednesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Analysis: The wideout was unclaimed after being waived/injured Tuesday, meaning he's been reverted to IR. Remigio went undrafted this past year out of Fresno State, where he recorded 852 receiving yards in his final year of college.

Waived/injured Tuesday
Remigio (wrist) was waived with an injury designation Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: Remigio has been nursing a wrist injury since mid-August. He is now set to hit waivers and subsequently revert to the Chiefs' injured reserve assuming nobody claims him. The undrafted free agent signed with Kansas City in May.

Injured during practice
Remigio appeared to suffer a wrist injury during practice Tuesday, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Remigio left the field holding his left wrist while he was carted off. The Fresno State product is working to make the team after going undrafted in 2023 and was impressive during the team's preseason game Sunday against the Saints, according to Taylor. He'll now focus on getting healthy, so he can continue trying to break camp on the 53-man roster.
